I’m not quite sure it’s burnout but something in that area. At the end of last year I herniated a disc which has caused longer term problems with my walking etc. Immediately my life was somewhat completely diminished as I couldn’t work, socialise or even leave the house much, or do basic things around the house. I developed ongoing nausea and stomach problems. I went back to work in the new year. I started building up to being able to go out a bit more etc. Then a couple of months later my 4yo DS was hospitalised and needed an emergency operation so that was a very stressful period. DS is highly anxious and on the CAHMS wait list so always takes a fair amount of energy and always wants my 100% attention. Anyway I just feel wiped all the time and as if my body is weak. My stomach seems to have times of being settled and then unsettled. I seem to be catching every bug going. The doctor ran tests for my stomach and couldn’t find anything sinister and sort of concluded it was stress induced. Has anyone managed to get back to ‘normal’ and has any tips? I’ve recently been on holiday and had hoped for a reset but I had my 4yo and 2yo so didn’t get very much rest. That was sort of my final hope for coming back and feeling energised and optimistic but it hasn’t quite happened!
