Laundry bleach turns suncream on clothes pink!

Who the hell knew? As it turns out, a few people, because now it's happened to me and I've looked it up, there have even been threads on here in the past. But I thought I'd post it as a friendly warning!

I've only started using laundry bleach since DC started school and last week was the first time he had suncream on.

Bugger.

Well, normal washing turns it yellowy...

I was peturbed to see a big pink patch appear when I poured some neat ace on my Grandson’s school shirt, it thankfully went away when I rinsed it in cold water, as did the paint. There was no suncream involved either, it’s an M&S shirt. Didn’t happen on a white cotton pique polo shirt though.

Did you add the white bleach to the washing machine and wash it that way?

If so, the stain has set now.

If you put the top in cold water with the bleach and remove as soon as it turns pink, rinse then soak overnight in cold water, it then removes the pink and washes white. Same if the white top has been sweated on, wash and it sets yellow so you need to soak cold before washing
