Smart watch with Spotify

Hi, looking for a smartwatch with Spotify, which you cn listen to without your phone around. Low budget (c. €100).

I can't seem to see anything, though years ago there were budget options which did this.

Not looking for second hand/refurb (it is a gift and want guarentee etc).

I dont think you download the playlists. You connect the watch to Spotify via the Spotify add on on the Fit Bit. On the fitbit you can browse your existing playlists that you have on Spotify, play and skip tracks.

They removed spotify on later versions i.e. fitbit versa 4.

So you won't get it on a new one.

Ok so the phone has to be close by?

I've never tested that. I don't think so, I think they both just need to be connected.

If it's decreased phone use you want you could look at Mighty Audio, which stores songs.

That is exactly the reason though! So tempting to scroll while listening to music!

At least with a watch we re getting a watch too, plus fitness stuff, so more value.

It seems hard to get screen free and budget friendly way to listen to Spotify!

Garmin have music watches where you can download and listen offline eg Forerunner 255 music. They're way over your budget new, but you might find one 2nd hand

I'm a massive phone addict and have come to the conclusion the only way to stop scrolling is to stop doing anything non essential on a mobile. Have a fixed time period that you can go online a day. Yet to implement it but that is the plan. I totally get it.

Do you mean for out and about or for st home? At home we use our Google nest

For out and about, car journeys etc. A way to discourage screentime with my daughter! She just got her first phone for her 13th but we are limiting it.

She has an Alexa for home but stupidly we can't attach it to her Spotify, it automatically attaches to mine. Either way, that doesn't matter. Looking for Spotify for her while out and about, screen free.

At home you need to go into her Spotify & select Alexa or whatever, I think.
The only way of using Spotify on the go is to have a watch that has its own 5G contract, or you can download music to it, or have the phone nearby.

@Livingmagicallyagain the other option for the car is turning her time off everything on the phone except Spotify. I do this with my older DS who charges his phone in his room overnight but likes to listen to podcasts / music to get to sleep.

Found a Versa 2 on CEX for €80 so chuffed with that!
