When do you get interviewed on UC?

DH may be being made redundant.

We've been trying to find out about what happens if we have to apply for UC for a couple of months.

Do you meet a work coach immediately, or after a few weeks?

Does anyone know?

When you claim UC you will start a claim online then arrange a meeting at nearest JC+ to sign up to claimant commitment a week or so usually after initially applying.

There is info here:
www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/

You and your husband should start the uc claim the day after his final wage payment so it is not assessed as income. The other benefit he can claim is New Style JSA it is a contribution based benefit, not means tested and paid fortnightly for up to 6m and deducted £ for £ from your UC. He gets it as he has been working and paying NI.

It helps because it means he still gets class 1 NI credits (towards state pension etc.) while he claims.
www.gov.uk/jobseekers-allowance

He can call help to claim phoneline ( citizens advice service) for advice on UC and help to check how much you can claim etc.

@FlemCandango Thank you, I'm pretty scared as I get full PIP for both daily living and mobility. Only just had my review and assessment, so am terrified of having to go through it again.

Is JSA still a thing, I thought it was only UC. So we'd have to apply for both?
