I would like to buy a treat bottle of fizz for me and DD to celebrate a special occasion. Neither of us like very dry, crisp wines. Please can someone recommend sweeter, creamier option at non-Champagne price? Thank you.

Following! I went to a wedding a few weeks ago any they had the nicest Prosecco. It was sweet but not too sweet. I ended up drinking way too much as I loved it and did have a sore head. I can't for the life of me remember the name. I've even been through pictures to see if I can see it in the background 🤣

This is lovely. Someone gave me it as part of a present. I like very dry champagne but I really liked this served very cold. It is a sweet Asti and really delicious. I drank it in the garden by myself one day spread across the day. Very happy day- sunshine, Asti and intermittent gardening.

Have you ever tried Cremante? That's a dry bubbly, though maybe not sweet enough? You could always drop a sugar cube in your glass first.

Do you want sweet, or less dry? Sparkling moscato is sweet! But delicious.

It's about £10 a bottle online.

@LuluBlakey1 I was going to suggest an Asti, the only wine that actually tastes of grapes!

I second Moscato. An alternative to processor and very nice

FlorencenotRatchet · 30/06/2024 20:42

Prosecco even!

Asti Spumante is lovely (Asda sell a nice one think it’s their finest range or something)

The Kylie prosecco is meant to be lovely

Look out for Lacheteau Crémant de Loire demi sec in M&S or Ocado, usually about £16 but on offer ATM for £12, so an excellent buy. 🥂🍾🥂

Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference is the best Prosecco for me. Very light and fruity, much nice than a lot of the others.

Footgoose · 30/06/2024 20:55

Alsace Cremante from Lidl .

I was given kylie Rose Prosecco and it did change my mind about Rose but I do like a dry Prosecco.

I like this too. And the green Waitrose Prosecco. But not the blue.

I love the sound of your day - it's very 'me' - I'm an total pro at having a 'party for one' 🤣

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Morador Malbec Brut Sparkling Wine. It's a rose, sweet but not too sweet and really nice.
