What happened to Tefal actifryers? The spinning ones?

Had one for years, it broke and I replaced. That ones just broken after years and I go to order them and just have them for silly prices on amazon £350!!

It's all I've used for chips for the last decade!

I like the spinning arm so I don't have to shake the chips!!

Are there any alternatives?

They aren't so bad in the Tefal sales usually, but phew! £350! Did you check on Tefal?

The Actifry ones are awful!!! We got rid of ours and got a ninja

Got rid of our actifry this years after using them for years and got a ninja. It’s been a revelation, would never go back to an actifry.

Try the Tefal website. I had the old one that broke a few years ago, the newer one has two sections which you can cook at the same time, so lower tray and upper tray, two different cooking times set all at once.
I feel the spinning arm isn't as good as the older model but it's faster because of the two trays.

Still use our Actifry (last night actually).
Only ever do chips or Ffrys but it does them perfectly.
Have had to buy a few spares over the years but that is the beauty of it, practically every part is available which makes it a perfect example of sustainability.
Can't remember when we got it but it is easily 10yrs+.

I've got a ninja, the dual one

But whilst I'm cooking chicken etc in that I use the spinning one for fries or wedges.

They aren't on there anymore. No where sells them

Not for chips! The spinning arm keeps them moving and cooks them perfectly.

There's not enough room in. Ninja to cook chips for 6 people!

Got a Ninja but the actifry does the best chicken drum sticks ( as long as the seasoning is added at the very end). Just thought would add that.

I’ve got one I got from my MIL when she upgraded to an airfryer. It’s the one you tilt so the chips turn and I love it, have cooked sausages, breaded chicken, pizza, stews etc

Have you tried Ebay? Some people buy gadgets but don't take to them

annonymousse · 30/06/2024 21:45

EBay is a good call. There's loads on there for less than £50. I agree the ninja is not so good for chips. My actifry is hanging on by a thread and I just use it if we're having chips. Everything else goes in the ninja.

I wouldn't want a second hand one.

I think we're going to try and fix ours, the lid came off and smashed to bits so think we can fix it.

Oh no! It seems that the Actifry is discontinued! Mine does the best chicken wings and drumsticks. When it dies, our family will be sad.

My XL Genius is my second Actifry. It doesn't do the "Chef" modes well anymore, and has overheated, but in manual mode it is great! I also have another regular airfryer, but the Actify is special with the rotating arm.
