My son is sporty (age 6) but struggles with groups that are really big (eg football) or require lots of waiting around for your turn (eg gymnastics)

he’s doing really well in swimming and he used to love bouldering/climbing lessons but unfortunately we can no longer go to these as they changed days. Both things have the fact they are a small adult to child ratio 1:3 /1:5) and I think that links into why he enjoys it so much. Can anyone recommend other sports which are typically led in smaller groups?

he is generally open to anything and physically confident, he has been riding his bike with no stabilisers since 3.5 etc. and goes on 10km bike rides most weekends with his dad! Would love to find him one more hobby to sit alongside his current activities of swimming, cycling and beavers.

thank you!

Kayaking, though obviously quite location dependent. Some martial arts sessions. You can almost always have a free session or go along to one to check it out in advance. It can vary a lot, but some groups have a really good adult to child ratio.
