Any tips for my son’s school trip to Normandy?

Hi,

Due to illness, I missed the school parents evening about my son’s trip to Normandy in a few weeks. I didn’t feel too bad about it at the time - I know the kind of thing they'll do and trust the teachers to look after them. But now I’m wondering if I have missed out on things they need to take. There doesn’t appear to be a packing list.

Has anyone’s child done this trip and have any recommendations? Also, he’ll need a card to use abroad as his Santander account will charge. Is there a way to not have to take out another account?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Has there not been any written information on the class/ year group website? If not, explain that you missed the information evening and ask if they can supply you with the information you need about timings, packing, phones, money etc.

How old is your DS?
How long is the trip?
What sort of things are they doing?

Can you not just ring the school and ask for the info given at the parents meeting?

Our school usually send the information out by email so if you can't make the information evening you've still got the information. I'd contact school and explain you couldn't make it and ask for the information. We opened a Monzo account and gave our son the card for his trips as his NatWest account would charge.

You need to contact the school or one of the parents who did attend. No one on here will know the answer to your questions. What he needs will depend d on the activities he will be doing and what the accommodation will provide. Spending money depends again on activities and opportunities to buy things.

Any parents that miss the trip meeting get sent the slides from the night, can you not email the school and ask for it to be sent to you?

Why would Mumsnet know anything about a school trip to Normandy by a random school?? Surely your first move is...to ask the school?
