Fancy(ish) restaurants near Stockport

My Dd will be 16 soon and we are looking for a special restaurant for a family celebration dinner. Somewhere not too large or crowded with a simple menu due to lots of food restrictions within the family. Italian is probably a fairly safe bet. The best one closed a while back and we are struggling to find somewhere that fits the bill. Could anyone recommend a restaurant near Stockport please?

Where The Light Gets In

That's absolutely not a simple menu there is it?

Alfredo's maybe on the Underbanks.

I'll look at those two, thank you.

The Italian (that’s its name) in Romiley. Not too big. Not fancy but very good food and very popular.

@Lokshen

Exactly the opposite of what the op asked for. And it's no children there too. Found it very pretentious and prescriptive

We went to Bonochi with friends who live nearby and I would recommend, they were good with allergies too. Not massively ‘stylish’ but a nice place and nice food. They made a real fuss of friends’ DC.

Also second The Italian in Romiley, lovely restaurant

Cibus in Levenshulme is lovely. Feels like a modern slightly nicer take on a traditional Italian and the food is delicious.
