Kefir for IBS-C

I've read a lot online about the benefits of kefir and IBS but a lot of info seems to be related to IBS-D. Has anyone tried it for IBS-C? If so did it help and how much did you drink? I'm at the start of a rather painful flare up and willing to try anything that may help. I did buy some kefir but not sure if it'll help or hinder and how much to drink of it.

I think I may have IBS - where do you go for information, I've never heard of types C and D.

Oh sorry IBS-C is when it's primarily constipation, IBS-D is when it's primarily diarrhoea. I honestly don't remember where I first heard the terms, I've had it for years. I just know that a lot of the conversations on here have mentioned it helping IBS that usually causes diarrhoea. Wondered if anyone had any experience of it helping IBS when you only get constipation. Main issue ATM for me are stomach cramps and abdo pain. Had a colonoscopy in the past with similar symptoms so think it is just IBS rather than anything more serious.
