Retracted eardrum tinnitus

I have had tinnitus for 6 months now. Constantly for 4 months. GP had a look, and said eardrum totally retracted, gave me steroid spray. Used for 6 weeks, getting worse. Now on antibiotics, but they don't seem to be working either.
Has anyone had this and did you get better?
No pain. No hayfever or allergies. No colds or anything. Just started occasionally then constant. Any tips or advice gratefully received!

I've got retracted eardrums and tinnitus. I've had it for years. It's age related for me. I had a hearing test and have lost some high frequency hearing. There is nothing to be done about it for me.

I've learnt to live with it. Stress makes it worse. I only notice it now when someone mentions it. Hopefully yours will improve over time.

Eek! Not what I wanted to hear. Sorry to hear you’ve had no luck healing it.
I suppose I’m hoping there is a way to get the eardrum back to normal?

Thanks for the reply, I think ill need an ENT referral. Just wish there was a way to just unclog it. Was hoping someone had a magic tip.
