What's the best way to clean our mattress after baby's nappy leaked in it.

Honestly this is the strongest argument against bedsharing!!

I do a bowl of quite warm water with zoflora. Scrub it was much as you can to get the poo out. Then pour loads and loads of bicarbonate of soda all over it and wait till it’s dry then hoover up.

Those Dr Beckmann brush stain remover things are also very good if you’re struggling. They’re for carpets I think but I’ve used them on mattresses before.

I saw a link somewhere on shaving foam!

I'd probably bicarb first.

Then Dr Beckman

Drag mattress out into the sunshine

Not sure but after this get a waterproof mattress protector! We did the same after a wee on our mattress. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I second this but buy two!! That way you can replace it in the middle of the night/while you’re washing it.

We have 2 mattress protectors! But the one that was on is a bit thinner, not waterproof as I find them clammy

Going to make sure if he doesn't go in his crib he at least has the crib mattress under him on our bed!

Little green sheep are good non clammy protectors

Apileofballyhoo · 29/06/2024 13:26

Baking soda and vinegar, some of that oxy stain remover like vanish except I buy own brand versions.

Chrissmasjammies · 29/06/2024 13:26

Biological washing powder dissolved in hot water (wear gloves) and scrub with a scrubbing brush.

Not much use now but we got a great jersey waterproof mattress protector after the first baby wee on our mattress. They've come a long way since the crinkly plasticky protectors of my youth!

Would suggest scrubbing with mix of hot water / vinegar and they sprinkling on lots of bread soda or bicarbonate and hoovering up when dry
