What am I leaking in my underwear?! *TMI*

For the past few weeks, I have wet streaks in my underwear nearly every morning when I first go to the toilet. It's pretty much always down the back of my underwear, and always in streak form rather than a patch.

Pretty sure it is clear fluid, has no odour whatsoever.. but this is hugely stressing me out!

Does this sound sinister? Or anything to stop it? It's confusing me.

Sweat. Leave knicker off.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 06:53

@Ahlovetoloveyoubaby I did consider sweat but I've never had it happen before so I guess I was thinking something more sinister, especially if it isn't a damp patch and more wet streaks, like something has leaked out Blush

Have you had any IBS problems recently? There's a colourless slime that sometimes happens when your stomach/bowel lining is irritated. I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about but it's worth talking to a GP if you also have pain or difficulty digesting.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 06:58

@Ambleberry I was constipated a few weeks ago (when it first started!) for the first time ever and had Laxido prescribed. For the past week I have been completely back to normal (or felt I have) digestive wise though, although I've also been on antibiotics which guts obviously don't like.

Could it be odourless if coming out from there? Confused that's what is throwing me. It has no scent whatsoever. It's so strange to be happening every morning and I'm such a panicker.

Sweat from your bum crack...

whateveryouwantmetosay · 29/06/2024 07:07

Do you have kids/have you given birth?

VladsPants · 29/06/2024 07:07

Anything leaking out of your bum would smell unpleasant, trust me.

It’s probably sweat. You can become a sweaty person at any point even if it’s not been an affliction previously.

HowDidJudithSurvive · 29/06/2024 07:09

It’s been warm the last couple of weeks, I would think you have a sweaty bum crack.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 07:18

I'm really reassured that the majority are saying sweat I've been panicking that I have some sort of sinister bowel issue or I'm leaking clear, odourless urine and became incontinent!

@whateveryouwantmetosay yes, two!

How old are you? Perimenopause is full of such delights.

AnyFucker · 29/06/2024 07:37

I had that when I was found to have cervical polyps. Clear, serous fluid. It completely stopped when I had the polyps removed.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 29/06/2024 07:38

Read up about Pilonidal cyst which can occur sort of top of bum crack.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 07:45

@Wallywobbles early 20s!

@AnyFucker would that be visible with a speculum?

Don't sleep in knickers! Surely no one does this? Your bits need air.

Hoglet70 · 29/06/2024 07:55

Anything that comes out of your bowel is not going to be odourless!

This sounds quite normal and one of the reasons someone invented panty liners!

TwoShades1 · 29/06/2024 08:03

If it’s odourless it’s very unlikely to be from your bowel. Probably not urine either as it would be stronger overnight and likely have a smell. Most likely to be sweat.

I always do!

@Toddlerteaplease I've also never not!

Are you well in all other ways?
Is it clear liquid type discharge from the back passage, not poo smelling? Can you feel when it happens?

I had that some years ago, I reckon it was liquid undigested fat. I was having all sorts of minor health issues at the time and going through perimenopause which all combined together made me feel like I was falling to bits.

I think it was all down to my digestion being very compromised because of the underactive thyroid I had to go private to get diagnosed and treated. Once I got that sorted then I was back to normal and this weird random itchy dribble stopped happening.

Footle · 29/06/2024 08:27

@lockedinto , mucus leaking from the bowel is not necessarily smelly. It needs investigating.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 08:29

@CrotchetyQuaver I think I'm well in other ways. Hugely stressed and anxious most of the time at the minute but that's about it Blush

Leave the knickers off, according to my gynaecologist ,your growler needs to breathe at night time.

lockedinto · 29/06/2024 08:37

@WitchyBits I always have such heavy discharge (always have) that I feel gross if I go without!

Even if you're right, "Surely" you know that there will be many women who do. 🙄

AnyFucker · 29/06/2024 09:34

Yes, some polyps will be visible with a speculum. For more internal ones you would need a scan or hysteroscopy.
