Angry at Wandsworth prison officer.

You may have heard or unfortunately seen the female prison officer having sex in a prison cell whilst been filmed . Her number visible on epaulette and her wedding ring clearly seen. On so many levels totally wrong.
I work in a male prison and have done for many years. I do a damn good job and am fair but firm and know I have the respect off the men. We do a challenging job in difficult situations but we are professional and caring.
Today Twitter is full of comments that women shouldn’t work in male jails or comments that make it seem all women are working there to be around men.
As well as the security aspect - she has made our job so much harder. I hope she sees prison from the other side of the bars.

I believe she had already left the prison service. So not career endings.

I can’t believe she passed all the checks to be honest. I also suspect it was done on purpose. They filmed that, she quits, the video gets leaked and hopefully sends more people to her OF page.

I think she thought if she left it wouldn’t be an issue.

Her marriage is open with him doing OF with her.

I actually know someone who was a nurse in a prison. She got locked up for having sex with an inmate. No of us knew until her face appeared in the daily mail. To be honest it didn’t surprise me at all.

The recruitment, onboarding and induction/training are literally the bare minimum that can be got away with.

Coupled with no staff I can see how she was recruited.

It is an appalling situation but then again the pay offered doesn’t suggest a worthwhile professional career.

My sympathy and worry goes out to every single person working in operational grade in both the prisons and also the probation service.

There is a video on tik tok of her coming out of court and bringing called names . What about those men in the video? They are just as bad as her .

they are in jail! but I'm sure she knew what she was doing esp when the camera came out.

@Pedallleur

But they are on camera showing their faces and doing the deed , but they are not being called derogatory names . I
Know this woman has done wrong but it's always the woman that gets demonised.

DancingLions · 05/07/2024 12:14

No ones saying these men are blameless. But she was the supposed professional in a position of power. It's not about oh lets blame the woman. She's the one who committed a crime and has rightly been arrested.

There is zero evidence that she was somehow forced or coerced to do what she did. People are being derogatory towards her because they (rightfully) expect professionals to behave as such. Even with the filming, it's clear she knew it was happening. This wasn't some hidden camera. Wouldn't have made her actions right even if it was, but it was done with her full knowledge.

So I disagree that they were "just as bad" as her. They were prisoners with not much to lose, one being offered sex, the other given permission to film it. Sure, it's scummy behaviour but they're criminals who are locked up! What do you expect? She had a duty to behave appropriately, they did not.

Sorry, but prison is a joke in this country. It needs to be made much, much more harsh.

What would you like to add?

Making it harder for inmates just adds to making it even more difficult for officers to work in prisons. Recruitment is hard enough already.

Catsfishybreath · 05/07/2024 13:32

@DancingLions

It's the name calling. When there is a sex scandal it's always the woman that gets called derogatory names . The woman always gets the blame and Shame.

Catsfishybreath · 05/07/2024 17:44

Allegedly the prisoner having sex with the guard has a heavily pregnant partner .

Another horrible thing is.
The creature that killed his ex, her sister and their mother last July with a crossbow viewed this before he killed them.
