Daft question about Aldi Tofu

The smoked one is one of my favourites.

On the packet-it states that it contains 180g, and that half a pack is 128 calories.

I have just air fried the whole pack, weighed it out of curiosity, and it only weighs 50g.

Does this mean I can shrink the calorie count accordingly? on a strict diet at the moment ? 😂

Depends whether it says 100g or 100g after preparation according to directions. My gut guess would be bad luck 🤣

I love it too! Eat it cold from the packet!

Package info for tofu is normally always drained uncooked, so it will be the same amount of calories, you’ve just removed a lot of the moisture

You should weigh things raw or before cooking/heating

Sorry op the calories still stand but bloody hell, are you sure it weight that in the first place that's a massive difference.

In a side note I've never eaten tofu is it really good?

Got it, thank you! Lidl's has a drained and undrained weight but I don't think this one does (chucked the packet now).

I am trying desperately to lose a few lb before I go on holiday in August 😂

I wondered that but assume it means with some liquid?

Every now and then I slow cook 600g of skinless, boneless chicken thigh. Once cooked, without the liquid (which I save for stock) it weighs 360g, more or less bang on, each time

Thats nearly 50% less.
