Right!

Leaving to drive to France from Ireland at 11 am!

two parents two primary kids, total parental burnout so haven’t packed! Have various organised bags/wash bags of things around. So not ALL bad.

hit me with what I need/want/can’t forget versus what I can buy in le grand supermarché !

Going to get the folder with ferry/eurocamp/insurance/v5 details, plus the passports and drivers licenses and put them in the Important Things Rucksack.

Come on, Top Organised Packers of Mumsnet, help a tired / frazzled mum out!

Oh my actual god. I'm anxious for you.

Paperwork sounds like it could be sorted pretty quickly, get everyone to find their clothes, shoes, suncream, tooth brushes and toothpaste. Chargers and adaptors. Jackets just in case! PRESCRIBED MEDICATION!!
Anything else you pack is a bonus 😂 and anything you forget can easily be bought in France.
I’m a very lax and light packer, I would also be packing about now. In fact I’m supposed to be leaving the house in an hour for a long weekend and I’m sat in my towel with wet hair and not packed. Will take me about 5 minutes to chuck some clothes in a bag. People spend days packing, DAYS, why?! How?! 😂

As long as you've got tickets, passports, drivers' licences/paperwork, travel insurance and prescription medication, you can buy the rest. That's what my Dad always used to say if my mum was worrying.

However... Do you have GHICs, hi vis jackets and Crit'Air sticker (if needed)?

longdistanceclaraclara · 28/06/2024 09:36

Erm at this stage I'd focus on paperwork, chuck what you can in the car and hope for the best! France has shops.

Ineedwinenow · 28/06/2024 09:38

Chargers, passports/tickets, euro adapter and clean pants should do it! Enjoy Grin

I am a last minute packer, can't be doing with overly planning. The only things you need are things you can't easily buy. So all paperwork (obvs), passports, phones, credit/debit cards, cash, chargers, prescribed meds, glasses/sunglasses, contacts, swimmies/bras, shoes, then just random clothes. Incidentals like toiletries, sun creams, general meds, can all be bought.

For the car, water and small snacks.

Have fun 😁

Amazing guys, the swimming goggles was the killer! All good - passports insurance rac international, v5 no critair required.

Ooooh! I love packing so gutted I missed the excitement 😂

At this point, it would be

-Kids in car? ✅

-Important Documents Rucksack WITH Important Documents inside? ✅

-Phones + chargers + adapters? ✅

-All doors locked? ✅

Then let’s goooooooo! 🤗

Bon voyage OP - enjoy your holiday! 🇫🇷
