Mini Pill - When Will My Boobs Stop Hurting?

Switched to it 3 weeks ago to help manage PMS, GP warned about side effects but suggested 3 months to adjust. 2 weeks was business as usual, then 3 days of spotting with kind of energy and mood crash like the worst day of PMS. This evened itself out but the boobs seem to have gone bigger and really sore, bras, clothes, everything hurts. Is this going to be on off all the while, or first three month on off, or non-stop 3 months? Can even lean forward without feeling it.

Is it desogestrel?

Bananchick · 28/06/2024 06:45

@IwishIdidntlikesugar Yes!

Mine was intermittent for a few months before dying down. As was the spotting. 3 weeks in, your body is only just starting to react to the effect of the hormones

I'd persevere. After a few months, the mini pill was the best thing ever. I loved the freedom of no periods and no need to have a pill free week. Only came off to TTC and will absolutely be straight back on it post birth.

I'd also say to persevere. Also had for the first few months, but it decreased/improved with each month.

i started taking it about 6 weeks ago to try to reduce my periods etc. I had a horrendous period after about 2 weeks that lasted around 10 days and 4 of those I couldnt leave the house for the amount of flooding. After it finished i got another (more manageable) period after another 2 weeks but by then i had absolutely no energy (my iron levels are really low which is why the pill was an attempt to stop periods and build my energy up again). It set me right back. The other aches and pains i was willing to put up with but i stopped taking them when my second period came so soon in fear that i would constantly keep getting them and need time off work.

I started mini pill about 7 weeks ago, the constant hunger is not good and I'm so moody - does this ever settle down? Also just had a 10 day period and still randomly spotting several days later
