I don't know Liverpool at all. But my one trip there we stayed at the Liner. Perfect . It was central enough for us and the hotel and staff were lovely. I hope to return soon and would stay there again.

As long as you mean the city centre crowne plaza then definitely that out of the three.
My office is very near there - I book hotels and venues frequently and Mercure is my budget friendly option, it’s ok but not as nice as the crowne plaza.

I've stayed at the Leonardo & it was good. Nice hotel & bar with good breakfast options. We Uber'd up to the top end of the city & it was less than £10.
The Leonardo is just by the Big Wheel, I think the Mercure is just across the way from the Crowne Plaza which is at the other end of the docks to the Leonardo. All are nearer the waterfront than bang in the city centre I think, but walkable to bars, restaurants etc.
Both Leonardo & Mercure are on Secret.

Sorry, just read your post properly and all of those are pretty much on the docks, majority of the good bars and restaurants are up on Bold St. and then some around the Town Hall. Are you married to those 3? There are some nice hotels up that end of the city centre - the Liner is up that way.
Hilton Double tree is nice as is indigo. Budget dependant hope st hotel is very nice.

Personally for me it would be the Leonardo. It is on the Albert Dock so not really central (I stay coz i attend a lot of gigs at the m&s arena). Easily walkable to James St station and Liverpool One and a really nice hotel.

I like Ibis styles on Dale street. And Hotel Indigo is lovely.

UPDATE
Ok so we are coming for 2 days for a chill, getaway after some stressful events.

Just want a nice hotel pool would be nice but not essential, not budget though, near bars, restaurants for evening and in the day just want to wander around, maybe a museum or 2, nice lunch etc.

Nothing too taxing just easy.

So which hotel would you recommend that ticks the above?

I've only stayed at the Crowne Plaza but I would recommend it.

AuntieMarys · 28/06/2024 10:43

I'd recommend Hope Street Hotel

CornishTeaTime · 28/06/2024 11:59

All 3 tick all your boxes, though the Atlantic Tower (mercure) doesn’t have a pool. They’re all a short walk to the Albert dock, and close to the Museum of Liverpool, and the music museum. The Tate, the slavery museum and the Beatles story are all at the Albert Dock. The other museums and the art gallery are in front of Lime St, which is walkable or you can get the train from James St or Moorfields.

Out of the three I’d probably go with the Crowne Plaza. I haven’t stayed there for years but they do an excellent breakfast.

CornishTeaTime · 28/06/2024 12:35

Im swaying towarf Crowne Plaza.
Thanks everyone very helpful
