I always enjoy the Rightmove threads on here, so I bring you this house from the other side of the world. My main question is - who is that sitting at the dining table?

(Before you ask, the exchange rate is about half, it's almost certainly not going to get that asking price, locally famous architect, and it's in a very desirable part of town)

I think it's possibly a kidnap victim. Maybe the estate agent who they are holding until they get a sale?

I did snort out loud at the zebra though.

TapToSkip · 26/06/2024 22:08

Had to go back for a second look because I got distracted by the zebra.

learieonthewildmoor · 26/06/2024 22:30

That’s very creepy.
You know, real estate agents will send round an interior designer, if you want: they’ll suggest things to change that you might not notice or think of.
The people selling that house should really have taken up the offer of the interior designer.

jollygreenpea · 26/06/2024 22:34

Are you talking about the wooden thing by the stairs? stuff like that doesn't bother me as either it goes with the present owners or it's straight in a skip. What I can't get over is how overlooked it is, now that would bother me.

No, the mannequin in the hood sitting at the end of the table.

I like the house itself and the chandelier in the kitchen.

I've been spared a lot of the art as I'm on my phone and the pictures are too small...

Bracesbraces · 26/06/2024 22:45

That is really freaky! But I did also get distracted by the zebra.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 26/06/2024 22:45

Absolutely shit myself!!

Radiatorrung · 26/06/2024 22:48

Wtf!

GreenCereal · 26/06/2024 23:10

I just can't believe the agent didn't gently say "maybe we should put this away for the photos..."

Same. I can't see anything of interest. Pics must be too small on my phone

Weird that there are no upstairs pictures.

It was the agent

wrens23498 · 26/06/2024 23:36

God i hope that zebra isn't real

StripedTomatoes · 26/06/2024 23:39

Beautiful house! I would keep the zebra for sure. It's suspicious that there are no photos of the bedrooms...

maudelovesharold · 26/06/2024 23:46

Thing is, its so creepy, it’s put me right off buying it! They really should have decluttered before having the photos done.

learieonthewildmoor · 27/06/2024 02:11

It hasn’t sold because people are afraid of the owners, for sure.

Prismsandprunes · 27/06/2024 03:24

I love the house apart from the art. WTH is with a swimming pool in Wellington though? You'd get so little use of it.

Springwatch123 · 27/06/2024 03:48

I missed the man at the table.

Also got distracted by the lovely zebra.

Tomatina · 27/06/2024 07:11

Not my cup of tea at all, even without the hooded dinner guest and the demon woman at the bottom of the stairs. A house that manages to be simultaneously big yet cramped (and overlooked), boringly suburban yet profoundly creepy.

Also don't miss what looks like the ghost of Elvis reflected in the cooker glass!
