Can stress causes loss of hearing? I'm worried.

Loss of hearing!!!!

I've had a very stressful time over the last 10 months. Bereavement, family agro, very severe anxiety etc. Since January I've had a rushing noise in both ears and a weird feeling of pressure. The Dr could not find anything wrong. It comes and goes and can last a week or two. I'm taking Sertraline and the occasional Zopiclone. I'm getting quite concerned.

Did they check blood pressure?

I was going to suggest blood pressure too. You can buy a bp machine online quite cheap now so you can check it yourself x

You can get an appt with an audiologist at SoecSavers fairly quickly. That would tell you whether you have a hearing loss or if there is wax blocking your ears.

I think that stress can cause an apparent loss of hearing because it’s simply so hard to pay attention and retain any more information.

I hope you get it resolved quickly.

The whooshing in ears is usually high blood pressure.you can get it checked at most pharmacies.

I'm shocked your doctor didn't check your BP.

I would speak to your pharmacist and get it checked.
