What’s the best way to heat my giant paddling pool?

Currently cloudy with intermittent sun but around 30’. Will it heat up quicker if I leave it to the sun or put the plastic tarpaulin type cover over the top?

You need to use a solar cover (the same size as the pool) which floats on the surface of the water. They look like stiff bubble wrap.

Put hot water in it…?

oberst · 26/06/2024 15:54

Bubble wrap! Cut it to size and leave on top

Why would you heat it up when it's 30 degrees? Surely the point of a paddling pool is to cool down. Or am I missing something here

Peonies12 · 26/06/2024 16:44

Boil the kettle and tip it in?

Sprogonthetyne · 26/06/2024 16:47

Float black bin bags on the surface of the water

rightoguvnor · 26/06/2024 16:52

Do you need to heat it up or keep it warm.
You could do the black bags, or a solar cover if the latter.
With the former I usually found the quicker and cheapest way was to drain it down a bit and hose in some hot water from the kitchen tap. Eventually I got a hot water tap put outside which also came in handy for washing down muddy dogs.

Fill it with a hose from the kitchen tap at the temp you want. When it gets too cold add hot to it.

I know the need to put hot water in it, but it’s a lot of back and forth and the kitchen tap does look like I can,t attach a hose attachment to it due to its shape, so looking at dodgy heaters on Amazon that look like the start of a horror/mirdr film when you want to electrocute someone.
maybe we just need to get an inflatable hot tub! But they seem so grim of not fully filtered
