How long has your root canal tooth lasted and do you have a crown on it?

I had root canal on its own in 2013 then needed a crown added to it in 2019 as I cracked the tooth on a sweet 🙄 all fine since! The dentist did say I’d need the crown eventually regardless when I had the root canal done, but at the time I couldn’t afford both so waited til the tooth virtually fell apart.

At least 30 years in one case

This is my predicament just had a root canal but can’t afford the crown at the moment, but reassuring to hear yours lasted 6 years without one!

With a crown?👑

Yes. Definitely had it done in my 30s and I’m 63 now … can’t remember exactly but I have at least three crowns, all followed root canal work and none is less than twenty years old

I can’t remember if any of them started out without crowns on, sorry - it’s all a long time ago. I went through a phase of having repeated abscesses and ended up having two apicectomies. Thankfully my teeth have been fine for the last twenty years or so.

This is reassuring as I’m quite young for my first root canal!
