weird stomach bug anyone?

Anyone else's family come down with a nasty stomach bug but with family members having different symptoms?

DS, DD and DH have all had vomiting the last few days. DS was v&d for 12 hours, DD just sick twice in 2 hours and DH been vomiting on and off for 48 hours, and on day three in bed (feels more like three years from my pov😂). But me, I've had stomach cramps on and off since Saturday and have needed make a few speedy trips to the loo but haven't been sick at all and don't feel particularly unwell otherwise, sometimes my appetite is completely normal and other times I feel like I'm off food. It's so weird! I know a lot of local families have had this bug, some with milder symptoms, some with more extreme ones, but don't know anyone with exactly what I have so just wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar experience recently? I'm also been on Omeprazole for the last couple of weeks too so am also wondering is this could be a side effect of that and not the bug at all...

Yeah we’ve all had stomach cramps, both children sick with it, fevers. Has taken a long time to pass between us all as well. Dh and I not sick but I’ve had a bit of a dodgy stomach on and off.

Yes I am on day 3!! stomach cramps, rushing to the loo, temp and aching all over - I feel really rough with it. No one else has it yet but my kids are 18 and 20 so fingers crossed they won’t. Hope you get better soon 😀

Yep dodgy stomach is exactly it. Bumped into my neighbour yesterday who had also had whatever this bug is quite mildly and she said it was still lingering for her too so I guess it's just a feature of this particular virus - lovely! Hope you're through it soon.

Yes I had a bad stomach all day Friday and was totally wiped out. Couldn't face eating.
Saturday totally normal ans then Sunday morning I spent throwing up.
My daughter and husband just had stomach cramps and nausea but no actual sickness!

I’ve had it, 2 weeks ago. Friday evening I felt nauseous but I wasn’t sick, Saturday nausea continued, Sunday I was fine and managed to eat and on Monday it came back! Tuesday it had gone completely and no one else caught it.

Glad to have found this thread as I think we have this now. It's the worst stomach bug me and DH can think of and DS goes to nursery so we've had a few. I think I had the stomach cramps 10 days ago then DS caught it and now DH who is in bed. At the time I thought it was just a bit of an update stomach from being on hols (really hope he already had it). It's DS I'm worried about as he had violent vomiting sat diarrhoea sun, seemed to be improving mon and tues and today backwards turn as he's been sick twice and had a lot of diarrhoea. Today all he's had is diarolyte a bit of water bananas and toast but he puked the toast straight back up. Does anyone have any tips?

Yes! I’m the only one here whose had it - 24 hours of D and V, the most violently ill I’ve ever been. Day 3 felt better. Day 4 sick again. Day 5 (today!) no vomiting but crazy stomach cramps and pain. Can’t eat anything still as it causes my stomach to twist into some fiery painful knot.

Sorry to hear this is still doing the rounds - it hit me in the end for about 10 days, kept going away for a day or two and then coming back again, with three days of such terrible stomach cramps at the very end that I thought there was something seriously wrong. The others were much more dramatically ill - with projectile vomiting or D&V lasting anywhere between 2 hours and 3 days, but it stuck around in me for a lot longer. My theory is that I didn't expel the bug as effectively as the others so it took my body longer to clear it, but that's just an idea as I can't begin to think why I would get it so differently otherwise. Been clear of it over a week now. Wishing all of & yours quick and speedy recoveries.

I had something weird like this back in February - randomly late one night suddenly had absolutely terrible, agonising stomach cramps/all over belly pains, felt simultaneously like I was going to both be very sick and have diarrhea (but didn't, was slightly loose though)...nearly passed out from the pain of the cramps then suddenly projectile vomited horrifically into the loo, then lots of dry wretching on and off for hours with more cramps.

Spent the next few days like that, mostly just happening in the evening even when I wasn't eating anything. The cramps were so awful, I nearly called an ambulance when they first happened as I thought it might be something like a bowl obstruction - I've had norovirus twice in the past unfortunately and this pain was in a whole other league completely!

Felt wretched for about a week as it took several days for me to resume drinking liquids and even longer to get back to eating as I lost my appetite so badly and felt really nauseous and was terrified of it happening again. God knows what caused it all though!
