We did this a few weeks ago - there is no way of paying it late so you will get a penalty but if this is the first time you have forgotten to pay the fine will be equal to the charge if you pay it quickly.
You can set up an account so it takes the money automatically in future.

I did this and they let me off because it was a first offence. I just had to pay the normal charge but if I go through again and don't pay I will be fined. Definitely worth phoning them

AnnotherReader · 25/06/2024 21:25

So you will only have to pay 2.50 but you do have to pay within 2 weeks of the missed payment and we only got the letter a day or 2 before this deadline

rainbowsparkle28 · 25/06/2024 21:37

I have done this once before and as was first time got a letter and was able just to pay the price of the crossing with no extra charge I think within a certain amount of time. Hopefully the same will be offered as an option for you if haven't done before.

Haha I worked in Logistics a fair few years ago and I was always forgetting to pay the charge. It saved them a fortune when I resigned.

modgepodge · 25/06/2024 21:41

Nice that they let you off for the first time.i did the same at Heathrow drop off, realised a day too late and there was nothing I could do, had to pay a £40 fine. I tell my dad to get the bus to the airport now 😂

soshelpsos · 25/06/2024 22:07

Ah I'm so happy they'll let me off as a first 'offence'.

My only issue is, I then drove back the same day, so that's 2 offences 🤯🤯😭😭 FFS lol

As in you crossed once to get to wherever you were going and once back later that day? So did I and no fine as first time you might be okay.

Then you should be fully fined on a moral basis. You can 'forget' one way, but not 2

Most ridiculous answer. If you forget to pay you forget to pay. It doesn’t make a difference to the forgetting to do one thing if you crossed twice in a day.
