Holiday in Burdeaux for a family of 4 (no kiddies!)

As a family we've not been on holiday since before covid and I've simply forgotten how one goes about this. We've left it too late probably but perhaps someone can help me. We're a family of 4. DC are 20 and 17, so not little ones anymore. We just want a fab accommodation in a pretty area within walking distance to some amenities, somewhere to hire bikes and pleasant easy bike riding routes. We'll hire a car so we can visit the nearby cities and villages.

I am just stuck with the actual location of where to stay. I don't want to be in the middle of a town, but I also don't want to be so rural that there's literally nowhere to go without jumping in the car.

It is not essential that there's a pool, but outdoor area to chill out would be nice, and aircon.

I'd really appreciate some specific locations that I could start searching upon. Or even any airb&b, chateaus, etc recommendations that are known to any of you. The idea is to fly to Burdeaux and hire a car/bikes.

Thanks!

I know this will be taken as picky, but I am autistic and this is bothering me.

Do you mean Bordeaux? Or is there are place called Burdeaux? If you do mean Bordeaux you would probably get more responses if you edit your title/post.

If there is a place called Burdeaux, I apologise. I would love to know where it is?

We stayed at a chateau hotel near St Emilion that had a nice pool set in the country bit close enough to go into town to eat.
