What are you wearing to bed in this horrible heat?

I'm most comfortable in a nightie, DH sleeps nude not that I mind too much-- Grin.--

My only moan is that I wake up looking like hagrid as apparently my head gets sweaty.

There's just something about my lightweight cotton snoopy nightie (m&s for the win).

Am I the strange one here MN?

Naked with a fan on. During the night I grow a fur coat cat monster on my side who decides the fan is for him. Which is fun.

Whereabouts do you wear the fan?🤣🤣

It's 28c in my bedroom 😭

I don't think it's been 28⁰C in my house ever!

longdistanceclaraclara · 25/06/2024 09:55

Our bedroom is a loft conversion and it is roasting hot. We never need the heating on up there if it's been on downstairs. I was working up there in Covid heatwave and it hit 39 during the day.

Anyway, l sleep in knickers and a vest as I do year round, and bought an air conditioner.

East facing? Hope you have kept windows shut and blinds down until the sun has passed over?

Droolylabradors · 25/06/2024 10:19

Never slept a single night naked in my memory.

Sleep in vest and jammie bottoms or shorts
Even when it was the 40deg heatwave two years ago.
And summer duvet.

Our house is old and stays cool.

Benshawsberries · 25/06/2024 10:20

Shorts and a bra top

JL690 · 25/06/2024 10:44

Nothing, haven't worn anything in bed since my early teens, I would probably find bed clothes uncomfortable now.

Abeona · 25/06/2024 10:59

A damp sheet (sprayed with water from a spray bottle) and nothing else.

WhyamInotvomiting · 25/06/2024 11:00

I basically always wear PJs and undies of some kind, I don't like not to. Just personal preference.

Last night I wore little cycling shorts and an old loose fitting crop top. Other times I will wear PJ sets of a vest top and little shorts, or wear a nightie. DH just sleeps in his boxers.

KStockHERO · 25/06/2024 11:02

Men's cotton T-shirt. Socks. The dog.

EyeOop · 25/06/2024 11:07

In the winter, I wear thermal long sleeved PJs, long fluffy socks, often a jumper on top, sometimes a hat and sometimes wrist warmers. I have an under blanket, the duvet, then an over blanket.

In the in between, I wear regular nightshirts over tight PJ bottoms/leggings style. I have my under blanket and the duvet.

In the summer, I wear vest tops over the same PJ bottoms/leggings. I usually just use the duvet.

Windows always closed at night. We have the same duvet all year round. We have never owned a fan.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 25/06/2024 11:09

Pants.

foghead · 25/06/2024 11:12

Vest top and loose 3/4 length pj bottoms.

Oodie sleep tee. Made From bamboo and I incredibly stretchy, cool and comfortable.

I always recommend the sleep tees,Much looser and cooler. They have some on offer on their website at the moment, although full price they're quite expensive.

IAlwaysTellTheTruthEvenWhenILie · 25/06/2024 11:34

Snoopy short pj set. Nice and cool. I can't sleep naked, I hate when it's all sticky😅

hexsnidgett · 25/06/2024 11:36

Tshirt and cropped pj bottoms.
28 deg in the bedroom last night it's only gonna get worse.Sad
Slightly regretting the double aspect in our new place, no escape from the sun.
Anyone seen cropped pj bottoms anywhere? Mine are all a bit holeyBlush

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 25/06/2024 11:38

Nowt (well knickers). If you are suffering go to amazon and search ice blankets. They work. Horrible hospital blue though.

TheMithrasDirective · 25/06/2024 11:58

Thin cotton nightie. I like sleeping naked, but always end up staggering off to the toilet 1-2 times per night and don't want to traumatise the teenagers if I bump into them in the hall!

It's not that hot here anyway.

KnittedCardi · 25/06/2024 12:39

I just wear pants all year round. I have just removed my 12 tog duvet though, and am just sleeping with the cover. I was rolled up like a doritto this morning 😂

TheBirdintheCave · 25/06/2024 14:00

@S0livagant South east facing. We keep the curtains, blinds and windows shut when we get the morning sun and open the window at night when the sun has gone over to the back of the house. This helps cool the room a little for when we go to bed but then three of us existing in the room overnight just turns it into a furnace again.

It's a new build so the insulation is intense 😅

Stumpedasatree · 25/06/2024 14:03

I'm not finding it too hot in the SE. Just wear a tshirt usually and have a cotton sheet rather than duvet.

I haven't bothered - back to rain and average temperatures tonight. For one slightly warmer night last night I slept on a light vest top and pants. Shame it's not a spell of it. I love warm nights

It’s hotter here today than it was yesterday and think tonight will be a lot warmer as it’s building up.
I like the warm weather but I don’t like the nights!

We have a ceiling fan it’s amazing! But it doesn’t cut it on some nights so a few years back we got an AC unit. We are in the SE though.

Ginkypig · 25/06/2024 14:56

xxxl cheap men’s cotton shirt which may or may not be thrown off in the middle of the night if I wake up due to a hot flush or nightsweat and a pair of pyjama trousers but only on only one leg as if I don’t then my thighs sweat and stick together 😩😲

I have been considering cutting a leg of a pair of leggings and wearing it like a bandage but not sure if it’ll just roll down.

god I’m fucking weird!

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 25/06/2024 14:58

Silk hair bonnet (yes, sexy I know 😂), stops me waking up looking like gene wilder (now that is a proper outing thing to admit to cos doubt there's that many who are that specific!). Pure silk pillowcase otherwise. They are expensive but another thing I do is get some pure silk squares on Amazon (really quite cheap!) and tuck that over and under your pillow.

As for clothing, I actually can't stand being naked in the heat, or with short pj bottoms etc. I find that I am actually hotter and more uncomfortable particularly when your legs stick together. I find long/cropped thin, pire cotton pj trousers actually stop me getting too sweaty with skin sticking and sweating to skin. Iykwim! Either that or pure cotton top sheet and one leg under and the other over the top, or whatever way you can use the sheet between legs to stop that horrible sticky feeling.
