Will it be dead?

F**king things keep coming in conservatory, it got between the blinds and glass .... dog was stressing

So I did the only thing I could think of and hoovered it up

My friend said it'll try and come out?

Help!

Wasps are NAILS and can survive anything. Even being drowned for several minutes. So I imagine a hornet could definitely survive being hoovered. Sorry.

Cant you see it in the dust bin?

OldFred · 24/06/2024 21:54

It will be mad. And dusty.
But not dead.

I stood on a hornet in my bare feet last year. It flew onto the windowsill, humming triumphantly to itself, and, as my foot turned into a throbbing anvil of pain, I picked up a slipper and smershed it. Not enough, it came back punching, so I got a book and hit it with the spine... still it came, fighting the spine with its little fists... I got a bigger book, leaned all my weight on it, could hear it buzzing angrily underneath, 'I keel you, hoomin!'...

Even as its carapace cracked and bits of it started to come off, it was still trying to have a go at me with its dying breath. Only when it was in two separate parts and the twitching had stopped did I feel safe to throw half out of window, and flush the other half down the loo wrapped in toilet paper, lest it reunite like the fucking Terminator. My foot hurt for about a week. So that's hornets for you.

When you go back in the room, your hoover will probably be in pieces...

A Henry? Just throw the bag out.
A bagless hoover? Err...

Agreed 😅

A quick squirt of insecticide up the hose should sort it out.
