Does anyone else have a very money driven partner?

DP is very driven by and values money. He has expensive tastes. He is not unwilling to work for these things and he works hard and earns very well.

However, I can’t help but wonder if we’d be happier if rather than aiming for the £1 million pound flat, we just moved to Zone 3 and got a £500k flat. Etc

Anyone else find their partner being so money driven to be frustrating?

Mine is the opposite, doesn’t look at what’s left in the account and how many days to payday, just spends and puts it on credit cards when his account is empty.

My Dh is quite like this. But, it's put us in an incredibly good position where we shouldn't ever worry about money again

Yeah, my husband is very driven by money, always wants more.
If I've got enough to do what I want, I'm happy. 🙂

Yep. It’s caused loads of problems as he’s never happy with what we have and has pushed me to work very hard over the years to also earn enough to pay for his dreams of fancy houses, posh cars, swanky holidays.

Yes, it can get to a point where desire for money overrides everything else, like being a good partner or parent, having a life beyond work, being a happy person with friends
