Day off...where shall we go?

Morning all on this gorgeous day

I had planned to go to a shopping mall as I need a new foundation with spf and some holiday clothes but having read about cosmetics causing cancer and it being such a nice day I'm wondering if I should go out somewhere outdoors instead. It's not like we have loads of this beautiful sunshine
Am near North Yorkshire
Does anyone else have any nice plans today?

Would you like us to come round and wipe your bum for you as well?

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 07:54

Will just go for a walk - slow because of the heat
you have hills moors or beach nearby ?
I'd do something quite local to save driving in a hot car

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 24/06/2024 08:30

Nice stroll in the moors and some lunch with a vino somewhere?

SpongeBlobSquareFace · 24/06/2024 08:31

@StripedTomatoes Why so grumpy on such a lovely day?
@greencartbluecart Beach would be ideal but we are a bit too far unfortunately

@StripedTomatoes that was a bit unnecessary I think.
@SpongeBlobSquareFace a lot depends on how many of you there are, ages, general level of fitness and what you like to do! I posted similar on the chat late a few days ago as I wanted to find somewhere suitable for me for a day trip when I'm on holiday. I now have plans to visit a beautiful area of Dartmoor which is accessible for me and has a shallow river to paddle in. We're going to take a picnic. If we had young children they could paddle, older children could explore, they could run around and let off steam, collect pretty stones, all sorts of things. Anything like that near you?

Willmafrockfit · 24/06/2024 08:42

i would go outside

ssd · 24/06/2024 08:54

God you are getting some sarky comments op!!

Is there any national trust places you could visit and wander around?

foghead · 24/06/2024 08:56

I like woods and forests on days like this. Much cooler and they look beautiful with the sunlight streaming through the gaps.

Gymmum82 · 24/06/2024 08:59

I’d probably head to the nearest lido and stay there for the day

Digestive28 · 24/06/2024 09:00

The sculpture park in Yorkshire will be lovely today

HauntedCosmos · 24/06/2024 09:14

Fountains Abbey is a beautiful place to visit or Malham Cove/Janet's Foss near to Skipton. Dalby Forest is a good day out too.

littlefireseverywhere · 24/06/2024 09:14

Somewhere near river for paddling, walk & picnic

TheChippendenSpook · 24/06/2024 09:16

I'm not one to go on about how awful everyone on here is these days but my God! Can't anyone post anything on here without people being being arseholes these days?

Cattery · 24/06/2024 09:18

Homebase. I love Homebase

Durdledore · 24/06/2024 09:20

I’m working all day so please get outside and enjoy this glorious weather for me 😍

Pootles34 · 24/06/2024 09:21

Dalby is a great shout - nice and shady under the trees, with a steam for paddling.

gojumpjump · 24/06/2024 09:21

Chatsworth house?

Twotimesrhymes · 24/06/2024 09:24

I hope you have a lovely day op !!!

stippedtomatoes - what a bitter person you are

I’m going to do a bit of gardening and eat outside with the kids / beach would be lovely but we are too far inland

pizzaHeart · 24/06/2024 09:25

What side of North Yorkshire you are?

Xiaoxiong · 24/06/2024 10:08

I'd pack a picnic and a book, and go to one of these places to sit next to a lovely stream/pool/waterfall www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/whats-on/things-to-do/in-pictures-15-of-north-yorkshires-finest-wild-swimming-locations-4175600
