Neighbour told us to pick up his dogs poo, what would you do?

At the front of our house we have a green and kids play there. One of the neighbours has a dog and he lets it poo on the grass which is fine if he picked it up but he doesn’t!
we Usually politely mention it and ask if they will pick it up as our kids and other peoples kids have stood in it and there’s nothing worse than dog poo in your shoes.
today there was more dog poo on the grass, when we told him he picked it up. A few moments later he comes back out and starts picking an argument saying next time if you see dog poo on the grass you pick it up. Don’t assume it’s his dogs poo.
he said it wasn’t his dogs poo but a few houses have cctv and you can see on it that it was his dog!
honestly I feel like he came at us for no reason, he knew it was his dog but started an arguement. I don’t think we should have
to pick up his dogs business!
now we know it was definitely his dog because we can see on cctv I feel even more annoyed!
what would you do?

Pick it up and return it to his front door step.

DuesToTheDirt · 23/06/2024 22:27

Do your council deal with dog poo issues? If they do I'd report him.

Place it back in his garden

Springwatch123 · 23/06/2024 22:49

It sounds like he thought you expected him To pick all dog poo up, because he’s a dog owner.

Did you mention you saw him on camera?

glittercunt · 23/06/2024 22:51

Tell him he and his dog are on several people's doorbell cams, leaving shits, so yes, it's at least mostly his dog.

I had similar with one neighbour here who denied it like I was crazy until I pointed and said 'I was right there in this window' and pointed at the pissed on wall and said 'and thats where he peed'. She didn't really have a come back from that but it's not happened again.

Dog poo used to make me furious. It was always in my children’s shoes and the pram wheels on the way to school. I was irate about it.
One day, I looked after a friends dog and.., he pooed on the pavement and I didn’t have a bag. Cue huge shame and realisation that I needed more understanding.
Now, instead of ranting at people I just calmly say “do you need a bag for that?”.
Truthfully, you can’t accost people unless you’ve seen it with your own eyes and then hold them accountable. They might shrug you off at first but they will change

Pick it up and return it to his front door step.

Posting it through the letter box usually produces the required result 😆

Bignanna · 23/06/2024 22:59

Report him to the council along with the photos

Nigellasstickytoffeepudding · 23/06/2024 23:02

Collect it up, place in a shoe box, wrap it up and post it to him.

BasiliskStare · 23/06/2024 23:04

I wouldn't post his post box but just repeatedly ask him to pick up after his dog when you have evidence ( and tell him you have. Can you take a photo from the cameras I would ( if you have poo bags pick it up and leave outside his front door ) But I am a dog owner so I'd be happy to do that - I realise not everyone would. But he is wrong and giving dog owners a bad name.

sevsal · 23/06/2024 23:08

Report to council dog warden.

Kumquaat · 23/06/2024 23:09

Under his car door handles.

Copperoliverbear · 23/06/2024 23:19

Tell him I have it on cctv that it's your dogs poo and if you don't start picking it up I will bring it over and rub your fucking face in it.

SoulSurvivor · 23/06/2024 23:47

Get it on a hand spade and lob the fucker at his front door. Then report to the council with video evidence, and keep on reporting 🤬

WhyCantPeopleBeNice · 24/06/2024 00:04

Screenshot his dog from the CCTV, print, laminate and staple to a stick.
Pop that nice little marker next to the poo for all to see

Deathraystare · 24/06/2024 08:43

@NeverDropYourMooncup

Good idea! After all he only told her to pick it up, didn't say what to do with it!!

Mollypolly2610 · 24/06/2024 17:48
