Yes, you can. You just need to look. I have a place I stay in London that’s the 3rd bedroom in a family’s flat for £35. Recently stayed in another last month for Chelsea Flower Show that was £50 a night. Both near Bermondsey. I never pay more than £60 and stay lots of nice places. I imagine there is less of this outside of London because it’s more whole properties on offer rather than rooms.

I stayed in a proper B&B recently for £40. Was tiny, but had an en suite and included cooked breakfast. Astonishing value.

Thanks, it seemed such a great idea initially but now its a " cottage" with an ugly wood burner bolted on and no welcome, no nothing.

Don't have the odd 600 quid lying about right now.
