For those of you using Tretinoin, how was 'the purge' for you?

I'm two weeks in and it's not bad thus far. Mild peeling but nothing my moisturiser can't handle.

Obvs, the Internet is full of horror stories so I'm pretty apprehensive.

How was it for you?

Wasn't too bad but I went pretty slow and even now I only use it 3-4 times a week

@spikeandbuffy how long did it take for you to get established with it, so that there were no side effects?

I used tret for a year and never did have a purge!
(I've gone "down" to retinal now and will stick with that)

Honestly not too sure, I used skin and me and went up with the strength
I still get the odd flaky bit now but v minimal
Been using it since it launched so 4 years

I'm using skin + me and I've had nothing at all, no purging, no flaking but I have noticed my skin is soaking up my moisturiser when I apply it after tret.

Mild flakeyness. I’m a bit lax with using it so still get the flakey skin. I just put moisturiser on and it’s fine
