Not sure if this message is genuine or a scam? Does anyone know? The link takes me to a very genuine looking Evri site and asks for my address then 0.21p for redelivery. No idea what parcel it is. Help!

Def scam

Definite scam. It’s basically phishing to see if you’re gullible enough to fall for it, as a tiny amount of money lots of people would. Then, in a few weeks, someone will ring you to say it was a scam and your card is at risk and they are going to ‘help’ you - by getting you to transfer a load of money to different bank accounts. Ignore ALL emails like this. No delivery company charges for re delivery you would just get a card through the door

DameMargaretofChalfont · 23/06/2024 13:45

It's a scam.

Look at the numerous errors in the text then ask yourself how Evri supposedly got your phone number. Your number would be available to the seller but not the delivery company.

Do not click on any links.

ChrisPPancake · 23/06/2024 13:45

Scam.

If it was a text message forward to 7726.

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 23/06/2024 13:45

Thanks everyone. I thought scam but the genuine looking website caught me out. Will ignore.

Scam

The phone number alone should have been enough to tell you that and you really shouldn't have clicked through any links in the message.

Do not give any details out. Forward the message to 7726

Don't click through on links from dodgy texts like that. It's a random phone number, the link doesn't even say Evri and the text message is littered with typos and errors. You're not expecting a parcel and no delivery company charges for redelivery. All reasons not to open it.

OP watch (or record to watch) Scam Interceptors on BBC1 weekday mornings. So many scams start like this.

@Andwegoroundagain (sorry, somehow clicked on your name and I can't manage to delete it Blush)

@Idontknowhatnametochoose never click a link on a message you're not expecting! I thought that was something everyone knows.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 23/06/2024 14:15

Had the exact same message the other day. Knew I hadn't ordered so it was a scam.

Had this with my mother the other day, she was determined it was genuine until I asked her what she'd ordered and was waiting for. The answer was nothing 🙄

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 23/06/2024 15:00

In my defence I've been waiting for an Amazon order today and the last update was that it was coming between 1 and 3. When that text came through I thought maybe it was being delivered by evri. I know unlikely but it caught me off guard. It won't happen again.
