Accidentally put salt in babies food

Having a slight panic. I made my DS 10 months a veggie chilli with mash. He seems to like, I put in some what I thought were onion granules.
I was delighted when he gobbled up his dinner (been turning his nose up all day at everything). Turns out it was bloody onion salt I added, no wonder he enjoyed it.
Will he be okay? Seems to be fine, sleeping just now. Taken a feed and had his bath.
I actually tasted his dinner and thought it tasted salty but just thought it was because I’d added lots of flavour! What an idiot!!

He'll be fine!

He'll be fine x

Ah course he'll be ok, a once-off with an otherwise healthy 10 month old would be fine. I'm presuming of course that we're talking about a little sprinkle, not heaping tablespoons full!!

As a one off this won't cause a problem. Though he may be thirsty, an extra drink might be in order.

What are you worried will happen to him?

Peonies12 · 22/06/2024 21:02

It’s totally fine. Babies in other countries eat salt much earlier. I’ve never been that strict about it. Maybe a sign to add lots of flavours!

Oblomov24 · 22/06/2024 21:10

It'll be fine.

Kitkat1523 · 22/06/2024 21:10

I remember when we just used to mash up our own food 😂😂

My 28 year old is doing absolutely fine 😅 She really enjoyed spare ribs when she was teething 😁

Thank you all. I just worried when I tasted his food it does taste quite salty. Probably just overthinking.
