For me it’s currently solitude. Space and quiet for myself.

As someone who lives by myself (with cats) and couldn’t face it any other way, it’s fascinating to see how many people include solitude / time to themselves on their lists.

Reading a good book

On a sunny day sitting in my beautiful garden that I’ve worked hard on

Getting my nails done professionally

Getting into my bed at night

Being on holiday, warm sun, a pool, a comfortable sun lounger, good food and wine

Late summer nights in the garden in front of the chiminea, stargazing.

Alone time, on my day off or first thing before the rest of the house is awake.

Being by the sea, in the sea, on the sea, just looking at it, it's like a magnet.

Travelling, exploring new places.

Sunshine, the summer, warm days, balmy evenings, holiday sun 😎

Calm and quiet, sitting in the garden listening to the birds.

Walking with friends, being in nature.

Cake 🍰 😋

Loved reading these. Great thread.

Things that make me happy:
Making lists 😉
Having a coffee in bed on weekends
Listening to the birds. I have an app that identifies birds by their calls
Sorting and printing actual photos. I have a collection of albums that go back to the start of our family. First photo was me at 9 months pregnant. DC is now 21
Reading. Especially books that really suck me in and I can't put them down
Cooking and eating
The seaside. There's a beach on the Yorkshire coast I've been going to since I was a child and every time I go I just love the 'unchangingness' of it
Travel and holidays
Trains. I like the buzz of all of these people going to all of the different places for their own reasons and the snippets of people's lives you get to see over a couple of hours
My long Sunday morning bath where I do all my scrubs and masks
My work. Whilst this is often one of the drivers for making me unhappy, mostly my job really energised me. I especially like days when I work in an office that is not my usual base and I get to see lots of colleagues I don't see too often

Playing the piano
watching birds in my garden
planning travels regardless of whether I have a holiday booked
learning Italian

Many things. My hamster, music, reading, going out for walks, nature, foreign travel, my favourite TV shows, going out for coffee/drinks/meals, beauty treatments, animals, theatre and museums.

Travel, sea swimming. walking in beautiful countryside, nice clothes, listening to music, reading books, projects around the house, cooking lovely food. In the future when I have time I'd like to get into gardening - I just love being outdoors.
