Travel sickness tablets

Any recommendations for travel sickness tablets?

DS2 gets travel sick, been using Sturogen (I think it's called that) but it makes him so drowsy and tired for a few days.

Won't use the bands (he is ND)

The (sea!) cruising community seem to rate Avomine- which is available in pills and also small patches- although I believe they may be prescription only

We will give those a try.
Patches are a good idea for long travels - not heardcof those before

My DD has always got on ok with Kwells, they don’t seem to make her drowsy

You can buy Avomine without a prescription.

You can buy Dramamine on ebay and they're very good, too.

You can buy Cyclizine from online pharmacies. They're the best IMO.

My DCs have suffered from travel sickness for years. DD discovered Kwells as she has to do coach trips for uni a lot and recommended them to DS who is usually really bad. Did a 4 hours trip and he had no problems at all.

But they all cause drowsiness. They're antihistamines.

I always used to find Cyclizine better than Stugeron, until my doctor actually prescribed Stugeron. The dose here is 25mg rather than the 15mg you get OTC in the U.K. Now I find them about equal. They don't make me drowsy (some antihistamines make you more drowsy than others... for example doxylamine is meant to make you drowsy and is sold as a sleep aid).

I used to take the Boots own brand travel sickness tablets, which are a different antihistamine again, I think. Worth a try (in a non-critical situation first!).

DS (6) has used Kwells for a long time now and it appears to make a huge difference without any negative side effects or drowsiness.

Stugeron tablets. The only travel tablets that help me.
