Any cricket parents out there? Looking for tips...

DS has been playing for 3 years. He also plays for a club outside school.
Because it's a lot of stuff (bat, helmet, hat, wicket gloves, balls, hoodies, hats, sun cream, water etc etc) I've always bought him the wheeled bag. He needs wheels as for school he can't carry a massive cricket bag plus his school rucksack.

The problem is I'm having to buy a new cricket bag every year and they're not cheap. It seems that as they get wheeled along the stuff slips to the bottom of the bag and the bottom then scrapes on the floor and the bag rips. His current one is basically 100% duck tape at the bottom now.

There must be a better way or a better bag. Are we doing something wrong? I'd pay more for a bag that would last more than 75% of a season. Any tips or recommendations...?

I just came across this post whilst looking for something else and noticed it had no replies. I'm a fellow cricket mum here and in all honesty, the wheeled bags are terrible. My son used to struggle with carrying a hold-all style on his back as well as his school bag, sports kits etc but he soon got used to it... no doubt because the alternative was to not carry his cricket bag borrow school equipment and he definitely didn't want to do that! 😅

@regularmumnotacoolmum
Thank you so much! That's the conclusion I'm coming to. I'm going to get a new bag in the post summer sale and he'll have to carry it.
I feel a bit better about it- he was 4'8' when he started playing and it's a lot of kit to carry- he's a foot taller now!
