Hi was wondering if anybody had been in this situation before with the council.
I was successful and offer a council property but within a week i was contacted by the council saying the property has extensive damage and repairs that need to be done so unfortunately they will not be able to give me the property. Then they told me they would reactivate my account and I would have to start bidding again.
has anyone else been in this situation before ?

I've seen another post where they did the repairs while the poster waited to get in. However annoying, this might be a blessing in disguise. If they moved you in you'd have had a nightmare time. The fact you are on the list and were offered means you have a good chance of getting another. Try not to be too disheartened :)

I was successful on 8th May then heard nothing for a month. I had to raise a complaint to get them to talk to me but it turned out the property needed extensive repairs. There was a problem with damp in the basement and they said I won't be able to move in for at least 3 months. As we speak they are excavating tonnes of clay from the basement and removing the floors in the flat. It sounds like yours must have substantial structural damage that cannot be resolved in a few months.
