Some advice needed please. Dd is going to her first proper party she is 18, autistic and has seizures that are not epileptic. Some of her friends are drinking. She wants to have a drink - she’s 18 ..I’ve suggested she takes a couple of cocktail cans and has water in between. Her friends know she has seizures. Should I speak directly to the girls parent to let her know. Now she’s 18 she’s an adult and being autistic myself I don’t know how to handle this. She is staying overnight again first time. Thank you.

How frequent are her seizures?
I would tell the mum if she will be there. Just so she knows what to do if it happens.
If anyone I didn’t know who was staying at my house sudden had seizure that hadn’t expected I’d be calling 999. Do her friends know what to do if she has one?

My Dd is 14 and epileptic.
I tell any adult who has care of her and make sure they know how to respond.

Thank you. She can have one if she is tired or stressed, her friends do know what to do but I don’t want to put that pressure in them.

It would be unfair on the adult (and other young people) for them not to know, just in case.

(DD had epilepsy as a child)

Thanks everyone I’ve contacted the parent to let them know and they are glad I did. Thanks again
