Thealoz eye drops?

Does anyone know what's special about them? My optician suggested them for dry eyes and they seem to do the job fine, but they're very expensive compared to, say, Boots own.

Is there a reason to pay the money?

I had them recommended as well, for dry eye, and actually found them a lot less effective than viscotears. Plus they came in tiny individual tubes, one tube per dose, so tons of extremely expensive plastic waste.

I’ve been advised at the eye clinic to get products that contain carbomer rather than cheaper drops with something called hydromellose ( I think). What do the boots drops contain?

The tubes are a thicker ointment I was advised only to use at night, for a specific short term problem. They also do drops that come in the normal eyedrop bottle.
