.....and which doesn't involve eggs or chocolate?

Lemon posset, or just make butter with the cream and use the lemons up another way.

MuscariFan · 21/06/2024 15:16

Make butter with the cream.

Freeze the lemons in slices for drinks/wedges to serve with things that you serve lemon wedges with.

Lemon sorbet with a lemons. I like to put it in the lemon skins so it looks pretty.

Double cream; I'd try to make butter because I've always wanted to and in your case if saves waste.

Hensintheskirting · 21/06/2024 15:17

Lemon posset? Just lemons, cream and sugar!

VillageLifeIsTricky · 21/06/2024 15:17

Lemon cheesecake

Gorgonemilezola · 21/06/2024 15:18

You can freeze cream and freeze the juice and zest of the lemons separately to use later. Pasta sauce with cream, lemon juice and zest, garlic and chilli flakes is lovely but I don’t know if it would split on thawing if you froze it.

AuroraHunter · 21/06/2024 15:23

Panna cotta freezes very well.

I keep a bag of lemon wedges in the freezer. You can add them to your G&T, use them in cooking. Agree that you can make butter with the cream. Freeze the whey or use it to make scones.

That ice cream recipe looks delicious - thank you, @Arlanymor.

CurlewKate · 21/06/2024 15:46

Can you freeze lemon posset? That's what I bought it for, but pudding making was double booked!

Yes, you can make butter, by the way-it works brilliantly!

You can freeze lemon juice, and freeze cream, so just keep them for later

You’re welcome and honestly it’s fab and so simple! Enjoy!

Than you for the recipes! The ice cream looks amazing- but only keeps in the freezer for 5 days. And I'm on my own for the next couple of weeks, so it I make it I will definitely eat it all.....

Nigella’s lemon ice cream! It’s divine! It was in How to Eat, but I expect it’s on line somewhere. Really simple and totally delicious.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 21/06/2024 20:21

The ice cream doesn't keep only 5 days! God knows why it states that.

I've just read that recipe - sod that: whip the cream with a tin of condensed milk until thickened, add the grated rind of two or three of your lemons plus the juice of a couple. You can freeze the rest of the lemons. It will keep fine for far longer the 5 days.

UnimaginableWindBird · 21/06/2024 20:22

Whip the cream. Juice and zest the lemons. Mix the juice and zest with icing sugar. Stir into the whipped cream. Freeze. You have the easiest ice cream ever.

UnimaginableWindBird · 21/06/2024 20:23

Ah. I see someone else got in with virtually the same recipe.

Crispynoodle · 21/06/2024 20:24

Lemon panna cotta

BuyOrBake · 21/06/2024 20:24

You can whip the cream and freeze it. Freeze the lemons in wedges, great for drinks.

Posset

CurlewKate · 22/06/2024 19:34

I've made a tub of the ice cream. People have said posset- which is what I intended to make-will it freeze?

I'm jealous! I find it lasts longer than five days... if I can keep my mitts off it!
