My eye keeps twitching!

Never had this happen before. It started yesterday and hasn't stopped going on and off constantly since

It is really, really annoying. I was talking to someone earlier and she noticed my eye twitching Grin

Anyone had this before? Anything I can take to stop it?

It happens usually when I'm tired.

Ive had this about a month.

Could it be dehydration?
Or thyroid

Bebelle9 · 20/06/2024 21:28

This could be due to magnesium deficiency

Hope it stops soon

You could try magnesium for muscle spasms.

Use this on non-sensitive areas of skin (not face). It absorbs well:

Watching this thread with interest because I've had the same thing on and off for about 6 weeks now! Always the same eye,but thankfully not noticable.

I get this when tired or stressed or getting a migraine or sickness though I am a full time glasses wearer so my eyes play up a fair bit anyway and I think I need a new prescription soon so probably why I am getting more twitches.

spikeandbuffy · 21/06/2024 01:45

Mine too! Mine is my lower under eye and it's been over a week now, so fed up of it

spikeandbuffy · 21/06/2024 01:46

Should add I've had my eyes tested recently and the change was so slight they said my glasses were fine
It's worse in the afternoon when I've been staring at a computer for 7hrs

Ozgirl75 · 21/06/2024 06:49

I get this from time to time. Main triggers are tiredness and too much caffeine (which go hand in hand!). Normally a couple of early nights and and getting around 8-9 hours sleep makes it go away. Normally I can sleep 7 hours and it’s fine but if I have a run of less than that it will start up.

Magnesium helps with muscle twitches.
