Menstrual cup help

I attempted to use a menstrual cup for the first time yesterday with not much luck.
I am using a Luna one from superdrug - size B (over 30 and 2 vaginal births)
I got it in and think it "popped open" as there was definitely some suction because if I tugged on it there was resistance but it leaked every time, I took it out and adjusted it and tried to change technique at least 6 times but it still leaked.
Some product was caught in the cup so it must have been at least a bit open but I don't know why it was leaking.
I feel like I read every website and watched every video but still don't know what I was doing wrong.

I used it overnight and it only leaked this morning onto my pad but the cup was full to the brim so I'd expect it to leak over. I dont know if I put it in correctly last night or if the laying down prevented the leaks that were happening in the day.
I also think the tab thing is too short as I had to really go up to find it and I found it hard to squeeze on the actual cup as it was quite high. I'd put it in lower and it would move itself up a bit. The tab is very small on this one and I have seen ones with longer tab/stems.
I'd love to be able to master this but feel really disheartened so far although I suppose it's normal for teething troubles at first, I'd be happy to buy another one if I knew it would work but I don't think I'll master it now.

Has anyone got any beginners tips please.
