If I'm using FB Messenger on the Messenger app can someone view the content of the messages via the home Wi-Fi router?

Just wondering because some info I'd discussed only on Messenger has been dropped into conversation. 🤔

It's possible but it would require some skill and gear.

There are two far more likely explanations.

They mentioned these names coincidentally or they saw it or your screen when you weren't around.

WTF

The most pointless comment I've seen in a long time.

Are you logged in to Facebook on another device that the person has access to? They'd be able to access your messages that way.

Thanks for the replies. @TinkerTiger No affair here, sorry to disappoint... 🙄

My phone is the only device I use Messenger on & is always locked, so I don't think they've accessed my phone.

I suppose it could be coincidence but it felt a bit strange.

The person I'm wondering about is an IT savvy person, so possibly could access the information but I don't know how easy that would be.

My ex husband gave me and our children a specific password for a secondary router in order that he could see what we were doing online. How are you accessing the internet?

SpringSephora · 02/12/2024 22:25

My ex-husband installed a key logger on our home PC which meant he could access any and all my accounts as he had the passwords. I reported him to the Police as I discovered this only after we had separated. Secured a non-molestation order but no conviction. I hope this hasn't happened to you x.
