Night sweats and sugar binge? Related? Possible reasons?

Hi all,

Been getting insane night sweats for the last two weeks. Feel freezing but wake up in a cold sweat. Damp sheets and clothes. Trying to think of causes the only thing I can think of is:

Sugar binge before bed? Anyone else get sugar related nightsweats?
Started the pill 2-3 weeks ago. Levest aka microgynon
Am 34, have had one child who is now 21 months. Not breastfeeding anymore for quite some time.

Have mentioned to GP who will run some bloods.

Thanks lovelies, anyone else had this issue?

Yes, chocolate causes night sweats for me.

My guess would be hormonal changes caused by the new pill but you should talk to your GP, night sweats is something they should know about.

My guess would be hormone changes are causing the sugar binge and sweats but, without being alarming, also look out for any muscle or chest pains that could be a blood clot. I had night sweats when going back on the pill after my first baby but also had calf pain and it turned out I had a blood clot.

I have a water spray by my bed for night sweats and a damp flannel on your chest is a godsend.

I'll go for hormonal too. Particularly with the sugar craving/binge.

Mine was carbs, greasy, stodgy carbs. Always before my period was due and always had night sweats/shivers, yet if I didn't eat them, I would feel murderous!

Now I just have night sweats/shivers without the cravings. That's menopause for you (again, a hormonal thing).
