There have been a couple of threads recently about worst ads/ads you hate and it got me thinking about some more memorable ads.

So what are some of your favourites? Or just ads that have stuck with you?

For me, as a child my absolute favourite ad was the maltesers ad with the wide mouthed frog.. the bit at the the end when he sort of sucked his mouth in and says "you don't say" had my siblings and me cracking up and I remember a vhs recording we had with it on that we used to ff to the ad..maybe we were just complete saddos 😂
Also "the red car and the blue car had a race" Milky Way ad... I still remember all the words 😅

Anyone else want to reminisce with me and appreciate some good/memorable ads?

I also have a few that have stuck with me..not so much favourites but definitely memorable.
There was one about road safety, I don't remember a lot but a little girl who'd been run over and I just remember her bones sort of crunching/snapping back into place as she's dragged into the road 🥺

And the one where the teenaged so wasn't wearing his seatbelt and kills his mum when she slams her brakes on!!

I don't know whether I want to google them to jog my memory or not tbh 😅

Those safety ones were brutal. I remember the one with the boy without a seatbelt killing his mum too.

My favourites were the Carling Black Label ones - they did spoofs of the Levis launderette ad, an Old Spice ad - with the phrase "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label" - culminating in one with a man who goes into a bar and asks for a pint of Carling Black Label ... "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label"

Also the Hamlet cigar ads - with the man whose combover kept slipping in the photo booth, and the Andrex puppy running off with the last piece of toilet roll.

More recently I have loved the Specsavers ones. And, as a middle-aged woman, the black horses in the Lloyds adverts make me a bit emotional.

Those safety ones were brutal.

They really were! I suppose it's a good thing they stick with you though, I would never not use a seatbelt! I wonder if they stopped making them (or if it's just that I don't watch much tv anymore) because I haven't seen anything like that for a very long time.

I googled the carling Levi one and the cigar one too😆 I love the humour in the older ads!

Oh also I remember one about a girl, I think it was for a children's charity. It was like a loop of things happening in her life on repeat and one of the things was her getting slapped hard in the back of the head..that slap honestly shook me at the time!

Not an advert, but I remember being shown the documentary about what would happen in a nuclear attack. This year a teacher at our school was reprimanded for telling a student (who had asked) that nuclear war was still a possibility, because it "upset them" - they'd never have coped with the 1980s! I suppose we were expecting the horror of the safety video after all the "Charlie Says" ones. I still know not to fly my kite near power lines.
