A male friend. Seperated from his wife, I know him through a hobby group, but we don't do anything outside of that group.
For several months now he's been texting me on a really regular basis, several times a week, sometimes several times a day.
However, I've realised the conversations only go anywhere if I make an effort. So today he sent me a photo of something he's been working on. I was sorely tempted just to give a thumbs up, but asked a question about it, which he answered, but again no follow up, so unless I ask again, that's the end of the conversation.
Sometimes he'll text to ask me about something, but he never follows up on the response I send unless I asked a question in my response.
At one point I was worried it was always me initiating and he wasn't really bothered, but I've stopped doing that and only text first rarely, if there's something specific I need, like making arrangements for hobby group, but still we're in touch, but saying very little, nearly every day.
I don't exactly want it to be more than a light friendship, but this is odd, isn't it?
