Quite frankly.

Trying to work my grown up serious job today with the following going on:
Horrendous period pains despite buscopan and paracetamol
Horrendous flooding, I could feel it pumping out of me every 20 minutes or so.
Frantically worrying that I have bled through my clothes onto the chair.
Having to go to the toilet frequently, change my pad and clearing fistfuls of blood and huge clots with loo roll into a public toilet.
Feeling dizzy.

All while trying to converse and talk work with Co workers.

Not had a period for 3 months, felt sure I was entering menopause.
Night sweats, insomnia and anxiety ramped up.
Nurse won’t let me have HRT back as my blood pressure is raised… because of the exhaustion, insomnia, anxiety and pain probably.

Im so so sick of it.
No one seems to get it. I’m fucking suffering and miserable.

I am going to make a GP appointment but I doubt very much that I will get anywhere with them either.

Anyone get where I’m coming from?

I feel your pain - has missed 2 and then the worst period with flooding I ever had - couldn’t leave the house for first 3 days. Thought at least they are less frequent and then 2 weeks later(!!!) another nightmare period. I’m honestly dreading my next.
And I’m just so bloody tired all the time but struggling with sleep.
It’s hell! Solidarity!

SparkyBlue · 18/06/2024 20:03

I get it. My gp referred me to a consultant gynaecologist who is very well thought off and I have my appointment this week.

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 18/06/2024 20:11

Good luck! Sounds like a chink of hope for you.

I just don’t feel like I’m listened to at all.
I also don’t think that people understand how challenging it is to hold down “normal life” when dealing with all I have described.

Ask gp for northisterone, daily dose it doesn't stop your period but will make them more "normal " I was like this for about 3years , insidently I was desperate and only gp available was male .He said no one ever went to him with this problem he was delighted and so helpful

spikeandbuffy · 18/06/2024 20:37

Same. Luckily I was at home but I sneezed and yeah.. fun
Been on dihydrocodeine all day and mefanamic acid plus a heat pad clamped to me
Stupid endometriosis for me and the slow referral process (MRI in a few weeks)

HumphreyCobblers · 18/06/2024 22:10

Oh god solidarity with you all. I have just started continuous HRT after two years of sequential, it was supposed to stop my periods but it hasn't worked and I have had three extremely painful and heavy periods in six weeks. Way worse than my usual period.

Menstruation can bugger off. I feel cheated, it was supposed to stop not get worse!

gamerchick · 18/06/2024 22:24

Yep, the random crime scene periods is the most shittiest part of peri imo. I've taken to wearing tena pads for bed and the first few days to save my clothes.

Apparently the coil helps.

PeonyBlush10 · 18/06/2024 22:40

The coil really helped me during peri meno, stopped my periods completely. No more PMT for 3 weeks out of 4. Not for everyone, but it suited me.

So don't try - call in sick!

twitchwitch · 18/06/2024 22:59

It's all just horrendous isn't it. I was suffering really badly a few of years ago, finally got somewhere with my GP & ended up with an ablation & coil early last year. All much better for a year or so & then started bleeding again. Last month bled profusely, along with lots of huge clots & also passed my coil.

Now it's worse than ever, so much blood, so much pain, feeling dizzy & sick & trying to work too. I'm utterly fed up.

Just want rid of everything now, I don't need it anymore!

gettinabitwindy · 18/06/2024 23:01

I had a mirena coil fitted which sorted out my horrendous flooding periods (it happened to me while queueing at check in for a flight wearing pale linen trousers, and I decided enough was enough)

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 19/06/2024 06:31

I can’t call in sick every time I’m on my period! I’ll be sacked.

If they could give gas & air or some such to put the coil in then I would go for that.
But they do not so I won’t tolerate it.
And I am hard as nails, very stoic but find smear tests unbearably painful so won’t be able to to stand coil fitting.

Im going to try the GP again to see what I can have.

SparkyBlue · 22/06/2024 17:56

So he recommended I put in the mirena coil which he will do under general anesthetic along with a d&c to remove any build up on the lining of the womb. The earliest date available will be august
