Is Dave out of fashion?

How many younger men (my age or thereabouts) named David call themselves Dave? I met a Dave at work online and I am meeting him on Thursday, he's 36. I imagine all Daves to be 50+ and younger Davids to be just David.

If you lived in Scotland you might meet a few called Davie.

And in New Zealand they're Davo 😁

Very few I think. I work with under 25s mainly and in 14 years, can't remember one David

DH calls them Dave whatever their age.

Maybe younger Davids (under 20s) would be Davy in line with all the Ronnies and Alfies?

Those I know about my age (30s) tend to answer happily enough to either but introduce themselves as David and use it on their email/ personal SM.

There's a Dave in my daughter's class. He's 13!

ExH was a Dave, so very much out of fashion in this household!

I know a 35 who is definitely David, never Dave. I also know a pug called Dave and I think it's a great name.

Couple of Davids in our primary school.
