I've been waiting for a few weeks now.
Anyone else waiting?
Worryingly, the longest day very soon!! I find that depressing!!
Today was supposed to be dry and now a risk of 21% approx for a shower/s
At least the sun is out but closing over!
:(

I've bought so many nice new dresses - I'm fed up with cold and wet weather!

NuffSaidSam · 18/06/2024 12:35

It's warm and sunny here.

the80sweregreat · 18/06/2024 12:41

It's quite nice here today, have high hopes for the washing to get dry.
I don't mind it like this as isn't too hot.

Augustus40 · 18/06/2024 13:20

It is 17 degrees here in the Midlands which is just right for me. The washing dried out on the line today too.

ZoomDoomZoom · 18/06/2024 13:23

I haven't bought any summer clothes, I'm wearing my spring/autumn/winter clothes minus the thermals underneath. However, last week I wore thermals, socks and wooly hat. So I adjust accordingly depending on the weather outside rather than the month!

Thanks all

FYI, we live in London, greater London ie on the outskirts.
The weather is often better here than most of England - today its clouded over, but warm - about 21C
Yesterday was good, a bit of a warm breeze loads of sun
Late last week we had the heating on, pm

As we approach the longest day, it really does depress me especially when the weathers poor

some of our kids are on hols in dubai - its lovely but too hot for us

Many times I wished we were not an island and were connected to Europe so we could drive across to warmer weather

we have clothes we bought in the end of summer sales last year - waiting to test them out but saving for short breaks in south Egnland -

what we need is at least a weeks good weather

booking hotels last minute are often expensive - booking a week early is a hit or miss with the weather

ideally, no rain, very little wind/breeze and temps of 25C -

slightly OT - anyone aware of any site that sells last minute hotel rooms on the south coast, ideally eastbounre to bournmouth areas or cornwall

speaking to hotel people on our last trip they said they don't discount rooms last minute these days as it encourages people to hold back and they hotels get a lot less so rather sell higher and let room go spare

Enjoy the weather if its good - we are off to the river and quick lunch!!

Yep, London here too, we had about ten minutes of sunshine earlier, now grey and horrible again.

longdistanceclaraclara · 18/06/2024 14:00

You can drive to Europe though!

Sharrilanda · 18/06/2024 14:12

How strange! I’m just north of North London and it’s been beautiful here, actually quite - dare I say it - hot at times !
Hope summer arrives for you soon, wherever you are ☀

Tumbleweed101 · 18/06/2024 14:20

Summer has arrived in my part of suffolk the last couple of days. This is about perfect for me. Sunshine and about 22C. Warm enough to bask outside but cool enough to do jobs.

Work2live · 18/06/2024 14:21

I’m in the north west and we’ve only had 2-3 genuinely nice, warm days so far this year.

Personally I like autumn and winter, but even I’m a bit bored of the never ending greyness and drizzle now.

Too old and never done it but we have been and last year we went with our son and his family for the second time in May - villa near Euro Diseny - we've been via drive to France a few times and apartments on the coast of Hollan - always around May june lucky with weather!!
if my OH or I was younger, we'd drive there
Our trips via car for my sake but its not fair on them - but an adventure, nevertheless.
We've been on Eurstar to Paris a few times - but the fares to portugal/spain are massive and then you have to ensure trains, connecting trains are not missesed!!

we live near kent - overcast but not to dull - been out for a bit of shopping, walk, lunch - its humid , 21 to 27% chance of rain but no rain yet - a couple of times we have missed a shower as a big dark cloud misses us!!

"strange" not really - several times we have had a downpour picking up one of the grankids, heading home, hal walk into the 1.5 mile journey, no rain at all

london I think is at least 20 miles wide, as the crow flys and many instances of snow around where we live, none in central London or where one of my siblings live sin a village near LHR airport!!

I'm pissed off. It's June and I'm still wearing my big coat! 😡

However, it's cold so I'll go out in my big coat and it's windy and overcast, then I'll turn a corner and it'll be sunny and boiling. For a second I'll regret my big coat and then the wind will pick up and I'm glad I'm wearing it. FGS.

I'm emigrating.

I actually went out today in just a t-shirt!

I'm in the NW and regularly threaten to move to London as you get much better weather than we do. I lived in London for 6 months for work in 2010 and was amazed that it only rained once the whole time.

The forecast is nice for the next few days and it looks pretty warm next week, so fingers crossed.

I've realised that that reads like I literally went out in just a t-shirt. I also had jeans on, I'm not mental!

For a change the weather got loads better than predicted - loads of sun from about 2pm - we went out for dinner and a stroll, had our sun glasses on, it was blistering in the sun but unexpectedly and not as predicted by the weather people - very windy - looking through the glass wall, the sun is still shinning on the top third of the tress down at the far end of the garden - we a lounge facing south ie rear gardens

We moved from Leeds in the late 70's - trust me the weather on the hole is miles better here. However, I;m glad you are getting nice weather as well!!
